The rust which accumulates under the combustion grating is collected using a sieve and is passed on through wet shafts to the wet continuous flow conveyor. The shafts are submerged into the water bath of the wet continuous flow conveyor in order to achieve a hermetic seal in relation to the primary air system / combustion chamber.

Both de-sludgers are located directly below the sludge shafts. The incinerate trash sludge falls through the sludge shaft into the water bath, is extinguished and is hydraulically removed using a baffle plate.
